Rosé and strawberry sorbet

Comments:

This is not your everyday sorbet. The crushed ice in a standard recipe is replaced by a bottle of Rosé. That's Rosé as in wine not Rose the flower. Remember that the finished product has the same alcoholic content as the wine of which it is made. Strawberries are a delightful addition to the mix. We served this sorbet and the Nashi sorbet together. The combination is magical. Another illustration of why sorbets make the Thermomix so popular.

Ingredients:

100g sugar

1 X 750ml bottle of Rosé wine

2 punnets strawberries

Directions:

Add sugar to the bowl, blend for 6 seconds on speed 9.

Add rosé and strawberries. Blend for 10 seconds on speed 6.

Freeze overnight.

When ready to serve, chop the frozen sorbet into smallish pieces and place in the TM bowl and blend for 1 minute on speed 10.

Note: because of the wine this sorbet always remains fairly soft.
